Susan Wood is the PC Assistant
Susan has been involved with Personal Computers since their introduction in the late 1970’s. She began her career in Florida developing specialized computer software systems for projects like the Hubble Space Telescope. In the early 1980’s, Susan moved to Boston where she worked for a variety of high-tech firms as a senior software computer systems engineer. She was actively involved in the design of devices using Packet Switched Network technology (the core technology of the Internet), local area network components with Internet interfaces, cryptographic equipment for the U.S. government, specialized computer software systems for commercial products, and provided unique computer software solutions for many large military data communications programs for both the U.S. and foreign governments. While in Boston, Susan was also a part-time instructor at Northeastern University where she taught classes in computer architecture, programming and data communications. She holds a patent for her design of an algorithm used in packet switched router technology for mobile Internetworking systems.
Susan and her husband, Joe, live in West Woodbury, Vermont with two dogs and three cats.
